This place is great if traveling with small children. Visited: August 2008 |

I agree mostly with the exceptional review (A-list) from above, but disagree with the part on small children.
I was traveling with both a four-month-old and a three-year-old, and found that the Atlantis was extremely unsuitable for children of that age. Being exposed to tobacco smoke (due to the Cuban cigars available), and being forced to travel through the casino to get to some of the food outside was not pleasant. Simply stated, the Atlantis is far to loud for younger children.
The Best Western Bay View is far more pleasurable if you have a young family, and when best to enjoy your children than on vacation? This hotel offers the privacy and tranquility needed by small children.
I think singles, adults without young children, or college students on spring break may find this hotel too "quiet" for their taste, and should head over to the Atlantis for some gambling, booze, and dancing. |

A clean, quiet, and friendly hotel. Visited: March 2003 |

The accommodations at Bay View Village were excellent. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite which was very spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly and very accommodating to our leisurely vacation schedule.
Bay View Village was far enough away from the noise and parties, but definitely close enough to the action if we wanted to join the festivities. Cabbage Beach was just a quick five-minute walk away and was the nicest beach that we found while we were here. And if we didn't feel like going to the beach, there were three pools at the complex to choose from, all located right outside our door.
If we ever make it back to the Bahamas, we will definitely stay at Bay View Village again. |

Be sure to put this place on your "A" list when looking for Paradise Island accommodations!
The web page photos do not do adequate justice to this lovely place. Bay View Village is a quiet colony of very private accommodations (a mixture of villas, townhouses, and apartments).
It is surrounded by lush tropical plantings, and maintained in immaculate condition. It is a quiet oasis nestled in what feels to be a deluxe residential neighborhood. The staff members are cheerful, attentive and non-intrusive, and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and cared for.
The only thing missing here is having the ocean right outside your front door (but the beach is in close walking distance, and the multiple pools on-site give you plenty of easy access to sun and water).
The guest list is a nice mixture of North Americans and Europeans (Bay View Village is especially popular with Germans), and we thoroughly enjoyed our interactions while sitting around the pool and attending to daily shopping errands. The Europeans, in particular, tend to be repeat customers at this facility, and that fact speaks to the high standards that are maintained by Bay View Village.
The best features are the wonderful, spacious, sunny accommodations (we stayed in an attached villa that had 2 bedrooms - each with an adjoining full bathroom); a large living/dining room (complete with cable TV); a modern, fully equipped kitchen; and private patio.
We also had immediate access to a pool (one of three on-site--and virtually a private pool for our unit), and a tennis court (available whenever we chose to play). Food on New Providence was very expensive (both in the grocery stores where the locals shop and in restaurants), so having the kitchen for breakfast, lunch, and the occasional dinner (when we were too tired to go out) was a definite plus.
The minuses are if you have children who need programmed activities and who want to be in the center of the action, Bay View Village is too quiet and serene. Families with that need will be better off at the Atlantis and its affiliates (Comfort Inn).
But for those who relish peace and quiet, privacy, the opportunity to rest, read, think, write, and enjoy the sun in an environment that offers all the comforts of home, Bay View Village is an ideal selection.
We recommend this place highly--and as travlers who have experienced everything from the Four Seasons to family budget hotels, we give Bay View Village high marks for comfort, service, and value.

Excellent family vacation spot Visited: June 2001 |

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teens) stayed here and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Why should we visit an expensive hotel when we had everything we would ever want here at Bay View? The food was great and the prices for food were wonderful. It’s quiet and not crowded.
We had an absolute wonderful time. Plan on letting everyone know what a great place this is. Website information on Bay View is correct; there were beautiful palm trees, three swimming pools, clean rooms and daily maid service. We felt right at home and were in close proximity to everything when we wanted to go out. We would no doubt stay here again.
